Here is the schedule for March - May 2025!

“The (W)hole of the Bagel” is a Sunday morning adult education series at Temple Sinai, designed to be a hub of enlightenment and learning. Through this intellectual and cultural salon, Temple Sinai hopes to foster a sense of community that transcends boundaries and fosters connections among its members.

The series reaffirms Temple Sinai’s dedication to creating a space where knowledge is shared, ideas are exchanged, and relationships are nurtured. At the heart of this initiative is the mission to foster a community of engaged individuals interested in exploring the intersection of tradition and modernity, Torah, and contemporary life. No less important, bagels, cream cheese and coffee will be served at each session.

Every Sunday morning that school is in session, participants gather at Temple Sinai to partake in intellectual discourse led by the Temple’s clergy and distinguished guest speakers. These speakers bring a wealth of knowledge and diverse perspectives to the table - they could be clergy from other denominations and faiths, esteemed professors, knowledgeable congregants, or experts from the broader community. The lineup of speakers ensures a rich tapestry of viewpoints, creating a platform for deep and multifaceted conversations.

The sessions are carefully curated to address a wide range of subjects that are both relevant and thought-provoking. From theological inquiries to ethical dilemmas, historical perspectives to social justice issues, each session offers a holistic exploration of topics that resonate with the values and principles upheld by Temple Sinai.

One of the key pillars of “The (W)hole of the Bagel” is inclusivity. The series aims to create a safe and welcoming space where diverse voices and perspectives are not only heard but celebrated. By inviting speakers from various backgrounds and disciplines, both from within our congregation and from the broader community, the salon promotes a spirit of openness and dialogue, encouraging participants to engage with differing opinions and broaden our understanding of the world in which we live.
